Body Mind Work
“You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you” (James Allen)
“A man is but the product of his thoughts, what he thinks, he becomes” (Mahatma Gandhi)
The mind has three basic functions:
- Thinking: Creating meaning or sense of the world around us, or of the events that happen in our lives. It sorts events into categories and finds patterns for us.
- Feeling: Monitoring or evaluating the meanings created by our thinking and understanding how positive or negative the events of our life are, particularly, given the meaning we are ascribing to them.
- Wanting: Putting our energy into action, in keeping with our definitions of what is desirable and possible.
Body Mind Work and How It Works
Body Mind Work is a therapeutic Bio-psychosocial model of Neurofeedback I have been trained in and apply to create better mental and physical health, by sorting and not supporting your illness. This method has no long NHS waiting lists, has been clinically proven to work on even the most long standing issues and will help you avoid many months, if not years, of conventional and sometimes costly therapy.
Applying the principles of Body Mind Work, The Screen and The Hudson Mind Process, I will work with you to show you how your mind does what it does to maintain your problem as your problem. This will enable you to disconnect the neurological feedback loop that has maintained your problem at a subconscious level. What essentially this means, is, you will have the power to break the connection between you and your emotional memory image problem by unlearning old patterns and learning new ones, so you can improve your health and wellbeing without needing medication or long drawn out processes.
I use a combination of Linguistics (The study of Language), Psychology (The Study of the Mind), Ethology (The Study of Human Behaviour), Physiology (The Study of the Body), Cognitive Science (The Study of Thought), Quantum Physics (The Study of Matter) and education. This combination, I have found in practice, is highly effective at ascertaining my client’s motivations at a conscious and below conscious level, so they can then be changed. This results in an altered neurological state, significantly improved health and all this done without re-traumatising the person.
Conditions Body Mind Work can help with:
- Addictions and Substance Misuse
- Anxiety, Stress or Depression
- Allergies, Fears and Phobias
- Behavioural, Emotional and Psychological Disorders
- Chronic Disease and Ill Health
- Educational Difficulties
- Sleeping Disorders
- Childhood Trauma
A Body Mind Work Session
A body mind work session is essentially a talking therapy between you and myself. This can take place in a therapy room together or can be performed over Skype, if you are unable to attend a face-to-face consultation. What makes this work so gentle yet very effective, is that I do not need to go over your past traumas to ascertain your problems. We will only work with what you want to, at a pace that suits you, in a safe and very friendly environment. I have found through my clients, that taking this approach enabled them to feel more relaxed by reducing pre-conceived fear that we would rake over old coals so to speak. This has enabled clients to make very fast and lasting changes for the betterment of them selves, empowering them to change their problems at their own pace.
In all sessions of talking therapy, you will choose what you want to work with and I will facilitate this and where I feel it is necessary during the session I will offer neurological feedback on how communicating your problem to me. You will be astounded at the amount of non-verbal communication you use at a below conscious level when you communicate to me with your problem in mind. The feedback I offer is to enable you to learn how you react and respond neurologically when you have your problem in mind and what we can do to get you to change it. So not only do you get learning from how you are subconsciously affected by your problem, you get to change it in a manner that suits you, is clinically effective and lasts. All this, without popping a pill or extended sessions of going over the past, sounds good hey?
The History of Body Mind Work
Matt Hudson Author and Behavioural Change Consultant with over 20 years private practice experience, founded Body Mind Work with one question in mind ”Why is it that some clients remain with their problem even after every avenue for help and relief has been explored?” Matt is an expert in non-verbal communication, neurological feedback and the Body-Mind connection and has collaborated with Professor Mark Johnson from the Centre for Pain Research to create a research article identifying better communication to overcoming pain. He continues to lead the way forwards in the Body–Mind connection.
Booking a Session
I am more than happy to have a free 15-minute phone consultation with you prior to booking and strongly recommend that upon booking we get you in for a course of 4 session’s, each a week apart. Sessions will last 45 minutes and I strongly advise completion of the course and the first session must be a face-to-face consultation rather than Skype. On completion of your 3-session course I will review where we are with your progress and it may be that we need not meet weekly and could extend the session gap to monthly. This of course will not be given until completion of the course and suffice to say you are a unique individual capable of achieving anything. I simply look forward to helping you with the change you want.
